Ortho-Bionomy® Instructor Training Seminar 1 with Ursula Hofer Coteachers: Lynne Marotta and Jessica Mark

The Instructor Training Seminar (ITS) in the Instructor Training Program (ITP) is divided into 2 segments: ITS 1 and ITS 2. This 5 day seminar is the first part. The ITS is an important part of the educational process that prepares trainees to teach Ortho-Bionomy at the foundational level and to assume the many responsibilities of an instructor. Please note that in order to apply to this program, you must have completed 375 hours of the Adv. Practitioner Program. Also be aware (see ITP Handbook p. 34) that only one bench assist may be completed for credit before the first ITS with a registered instructor who has a minimum of one year active teaching experience.

Tuition:

Early Bird Discount: $990 (by check) OR $1,025 (credit card)

A non-refundable deposit of $290 (check) OR $300 (credit card) is due by January 15, 2024 with the balance $700 (check) or $725 (credit card) is due by March 15, 2024.

Regular Rate (after Jan. 15th deposit date): $1060 (check) OR $1,100 (credit card)

A non-refundable deposit of $290 (check) OR $300 (credit card) is due as soon as possible with the balance of $770 (check) or $800 (credit card) due by April 1, 2024.

Prerequisite: An approved application to enter the ITP. The latest date your application can be submitted into SOBI in time for this ITS is Jan. 15, 2024.

If your application to the Instructor Training Program is not approved, you will be issued a full refund of your deposit.

Instructor Training Program Overview 

Here are the basic steps of the Instructor Training Program: 

1. Apply to the program 

2. Once accepted, attend and complete Instructor Training Seminar (ITS) - Part I

3. Work towards completing your Bench Assists requirements in the classroom

4. Evolve to Associate Instructor 

5. Attend and complete Instructor Training Seminar (ITS) - Part II

6. Complete all required Co-Teaches and Supervised Teaches

7. Evolve to Instructor 

Prerequisites for applying to the Instructor Training Program 

  • SOBI membership is current 

  • Registered Advanced Practitioner or Registered Practitioner who has  completed at 375 units of the Advanced Practitioner Training Program 

  • Application and acceptance to the Instructor Training Program 

Complete these Requirements and Include: 

1. The first page of the Application to Enter the Instructor Training Program (Page 4).  

2. The second page of the Application to Enter the Instructor Training  Program. Type all answers to the essay questions (Page 5). 

3. Two Recommendations:  

∙ One of the Advisor Recommendation forms (Pages 6-7)  & one of the Instructor Recommendation forms (Pages 8-9) 

∙ OR Two Instructor Recommendation forms (Pages 6-7). 

WE suggest that you ask each recommending Instructor of their  willingness to work with you in the classroom throughout your training.

4. If you are not an Advanced Practitioner: then include your Advanced  Practitioner Training Program Record showing completion of at least 375 units of the Advanced Practitioner Training Program. 

5. Please scan these documents in the order mentioned above into a single  PDF file and email the file to office@ortho-bionomy.org 

6. Keep all originals for yourself & send an email copy of the PDF file to your  advisor. 

7. Pay $100 application fee, invoiced from SOBI office after receipt of your  packet

The ITP coursework curriculum consists of the following classes/topics:

Suggested Elective: Comparison of Ortho-Bionomy to Other Modalities 

Classroom observation and experience consists of Bench Assists, Co-Teaches and  Supervised Teaches. The following are the minimum required classes and units/hours  for each in the Instructor Training Program:

One may bench one Phase 4 class (no presentations) prior to the ITS - Part 1.
