In this self care course, we will learn about the Homunculus, Peduncles and Commissures. Commissures in the brain are bundles of nerve fibers that connect the left and right sides of the brain. Peduncles are diagonal pathways in the brain that transmit signals and information between various brain regions. The homunculus in the outer layer of the brain is a representation of how the brain processes motor and sensory information from different parts of the body. Working with the motor homunculus can help to rewire neural pathways for movement. Engaging with the somatosensory homunculus can improve sensory perception and proprioception.
As always, the most important pieces will be the experience of these Cranial and Central Nervous System Structures and how they are integral for communication and movement throughout the whole body. We will also dedicate time to practice self-care for our eyes.
