Fat and fascia are often overlooked or misunderstood, yet together they form a remarkable system of support, communication, adaptability, and protection throughout the body. Far from being passive tissues, they help us sense ourselves, distribute force, nourish movement, and respond to the ever-changing demands of daily life.
In this experiential 90-minute online workshop, we'll explore the relationship between fat and fascia through a blend of accessible anatomy, guided somatic awareness, gentle movement, and group discussion. Rather than simply learning about these tissues, you will be invited to experience how they contribute to ease, resilience, and organization from within.
Together we'll explore:
The unique roles of fascia and adipose tissue in support, movement, power, and perception
How these tissues communicate with the nervous system and respond to stress and safety
Somatic explorations that invite greater awareness of fluidity, cushioning, strength, connection, and adaptability
How cultivating awareness of these tissues can deepen our relationship with our bodies and our movement practices
Whether you are a bodyworker, movement educator, healthcare practitioner, or simply curious about your own body, this workshop offers an opportunity to discover these remarkable tissues with fresh eyes—and perhaps a little more appreciation for the quiet wisdom they embody.
