Our Internal Organs: The Body’s Contents and Vitality (Asheville, NC) with Bob Lehnberg

  • Happy Body 25 Reed Street Asheville (map)

Our internal organs are contained by our skeletal structure and provide us with the vital functions of life as well as our sense of self, volume and authenticity. Physiologically they perform the basic bodily functions of breathing, circulation and digestion. Spatially they offer us three-dimensional presence in posture and movement. Organs also serve as the seat of emotions, feelings and inner reactions. Through an embodied approach, we can utilize unique ways to facilitate access and provide balance to organs individually and as a whole system. Knowledge of their location, shape and tone informs us to adjust the weight, pressure and rhythm of our touch. In an easeful way, we find balance and connection within ourselves and our clients. This class is based largely on principles of Body-Mind Centering® and is aimed to help practitioners refine their somatic presence, manual applications and support somatic intelligence through skilled touch and movement. Participants learn to broaden and apply their touch and presence to the modalities and protocols they already use.

Class is open to all levels of experience. We begin class with simple qigong exercise and continue with demonstration, hands-on and experiential activities. Please wear comfortable, modest clothing. For more information visit: www.intouchsomatics.com.
