ONLINE Study Group: Ortho-Bionomy® as Lived Experience

  • ONLINE United States (map)

Dr. Arthur Pauls often said Ortho-Bionomy is caught, not taught.

  • What happens when we catch “IT”?

  • How do we catch IT?

  • When did we catch IT?

  • How does IT change us as people?

  • And how does catching IT change us—not only as practitioners, but as people?

Each of us carries a lived experience shaped by the unfolding of our lives. And each of us carries a lived experience shaped by our relationship with Ortho-Bionomy.

Mark Strong said, “some jobs you do, they're just jobs. Others are life experiences.” Perhaps this is what George Lamming means when he said: “it didn't seem I could know it until I had lived it.”

Could it be that we really cannot know Ortho-Bionomy unless we have lived it? And if so, what does that invite of us?

Three Advanced Ortho-Bionomy Instructors come together for a three-hour conversation, a trialogue, exploring Ortho-Bionomy as lived experience—reflecting on how life experiences may have predisposed them toward this work, and how Ortho-Bionomy has shaped them as their lives unfold.

  • Credit can only be issued for students with cameras on for the duration of the class. No credit is issued for partial attendance without instructor permission.

  • A recording will be made available to all students within 24 hours of the live class.

  • Please be in communication with your advisor if you are able to receive credit for online study groups. SOBI has policies regarding the number of courses available for credit and they are located on their website (https://www.ortho-bionomy.org).

  • Zoom link for the class will be emailed before the start of the class.

  • Out of courtesy to the instructor and other students, please be mindful not to be walking, traveling in a vehicle, in your jujitsu class, or otherwise occupied with other tasks with your camera on. We are happy for you to tune in live during any of those activities, but without your camera or sound on. As a reminder, you cannot receive credit if your camera is off. In general, the best rule is to treat online courses like an in person one.
